Astrail is a personal goals & reflection app. It is built to be privacy-first: the goals, milestones, reflections, and habits you create stay on your device (and, if you turn on iCloud, in your own private iCloud). We do not run accounts or servers that hold your content, and we do not sell your data.
Everything you write — goals, milestones, reflections, habits, energy, and ship customizations — is stored locally on your device by the operating system. If you enable iCloud sync, selected app data is synchronized through your own private iCloud account, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Some settings stay on this device only and are never synchronized. Nothing is sent to us.
You can attach one photo to a completed goal. You can either pick an existing image or take a new one with the camera. When you pick an existing image, Astrail asks the system photo picker for that single image; Astrail does not browse, scan, or read your photo library, and only receives the one image you pick. When you choose to take a new photo, Astrail asks for camera access at that moment and receives only the photo you just took — it never opens the camera on its own. Either way, Astrail saves a copy inside the app's own storage — the same place your goals live. If iCloud sync is on, the copy syncs through your own private iCloud. Photos are never uploaded to us or to anyone else.
The arrival animations shown when you complete a goal are downloaded on demand from our content delivery storage (Cloudflare R2) and cached on your device. Like any web request, these carry your device's IP address, which Cloudflare handles as its infrastructure provider. These requests contain nothing about you or your goals — only the filename of a shared animation. No account or identifier is attached.
Purchases of the Voyager Pass are processed by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. To determine whether your Pass is active, RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated identifier and the purchase/transaction information Apple provides. We do not receive your Apple ID, name, or payment card details.
If you set reminders, they are scheduled and delivered locally on your device. No reminder content is sent to any server.
Astrail is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
